How we create, test and correct every article.
These are the rules behind Nailoholic. They tell you who writes our articles, how we check them, what our labels mean, and what happens when we get something wrong.
Written by a nail artist
Every article is written or reviewed by Brynn Calloway.
Clearly labeled
Each article says whether it was tested, tried, researched or curated.
Independent
Brands and commissions never decide what we recommend.
Corrected openly
Mistakes are fixed fast and the change is noted.
Who writes Nailoholic
Nailoholic is written by Brynn Calloway, a nail artist and beauty writer. Brynn creates the designs, writes the articles and approves every update before it goes live.
[If anyone else writes, reviews or photographs for Nailoholic, name them here with their role. If it is only Brynn, keep the sentence above and delete this line.]
Every article shows its author and the date it was last updated. You can read more about Brynn on the About page.
Our standards
- Useful first. Every article answers a real question: which design, which shape, which colors, how to do it.
- Accurate. Product use and nail-care steps match the manufacturer’s instructions and reliable sources.
- Original. We write our own words and credit other people’s designs and photos.
- Honest. We say what went wrong, not only what went right, and we never claim testing we did not do.
- Clear. Plain words, real steps, no filler.
How an article is made
Choose the topic
We start from questions readers ask, current trends, and designs Brynn wants to share.
Research
We read the product instructions and check the facts against the sources listed below.
Create and photograph
Brynn creates or recreates the design and photographs the result. [Say where and how: for example, on her own nails, on clients with permission, or on practice tips.]
Write and check
The article is written, then checked for accuracy, clear steps and safe advice before publishing.
Review and update
We review published articles [every X months] and when products, trends or advice change.
What our labels mean
Each article carries one label near the top, so you know what kind of experience is behind it. We only use a label when it is true.
| Label | What it means | What the article tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Tested | Brynn wore or used it over time. | How long it was worn [for example, X days], daily conditions, and what failed. |
| Tried | Brynn made or applied it at least once. | How the application went and what to watch out for. |
| Researched | Based on sources, not worn by us. | The sources, linked in the article. |
| Inspiration | A curated set of design ideas. | Who created each design, with credit where it is not ours. |
“Tested on real hands” only appears on articles with the Tested label.
Sources we use
- Manufacturer instructions and safety information for every product we show.
- [Professional nail-tech guidance or training material you rely on.]
- [Dermatology or nail-health sources, for example professional medical associations.]
- Brynn’s own hands-on experience, which we label as such.
When a fact comes from a source, we link to it in the article. We do not copy other blogs’ claims without checking them.
Photos and AI
Photos. Nail photos on Nailoholic are [Brynn’s own / mostly Brynn’s own]. When we use a photo or design by someone else, we credit them and link to the original with permission. [Say how stock photos are labeled, if you use any.]
AI. [Choose one and delete the other.] We do not use AI-generated images of nails. / AI-generated images are labeled “AI image” and are never used to show a real result.
[Say whether AI tools help with writing, for example drafting or grammar, and confirm that Brynn checks and edits every article.]
Money and independence
Some articles contain affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide what we recommend, and brands do not approve or edit our articles.
[Gifted products and sponsored posts: say whether you accept them. If you do, they are labeled at the top of the article.]
Full details are on the Disclosure page.
Safety and health
Nailoholic shares nail art and beauty information, not medical advice. We follow the safety instructions for every product we show, and we remind readers to patch-test and use products as directed.
If you have pain, swelling, signs of infection or an allergic reaction, stop using the product and see a doctor. More in our Terms of use.

- We check it. We aim to review reports within [X working days].
- We fix it. If the mistake matters, we correct it and add a note at the top of the article.
- We date it. Every update changes the “last updated” date.
