Copyright and DMCA Policy

I respect the work of other creators, and I ask the same for mine. This page explains how you can use content from Nailoholic, and what to do if you believe your own work appears here without permission.

The short version
  • My work is protected. Photos and text on this site belong to me.
  • Sharing a link is welcome. Copying whole guides or photos is not.
  • Report a problem by email. Include the details listed below.
  • I act on valid notices. Material that breaks copyright is removed.

My Content and How You Can Use It

The text, photos, designs and logo on Nailoholic are my work, unless a page says otherwise. The photos in my guide to the 7 magnetic polish effects, for example, are my own, taken of real nails.

You are welcome to:

  • Share a link to any page on the site.
  • Quote a short part of a guide, with credit to Nailoholic and a link back to the page.
  • Pin a guide to Pinterest using its own photo, as long as the pin links back to the page.

Please do not copy whole guides, republish my photos on your own site or social media account, or use my work in ads, products or courses without my written permission. The full rules for using the site are in the terms that apply to every visitor.

If You Believe Your Work Appears Here

If you own the copyright to something that appears on Nailoholic without your permission, you can send me a written notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). To be valid, your notice needs to include all 6 of these items:

  1. Your signature. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of someone allowed to act for them.
  2. The original work. A description of the work you believe was copied, with a link to it if it is online.
  3. Where it appears here. The exact page link on Nailoholic, and which photo or text you mean.
  4. Your contact details. Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
  5. Good faith statement. A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not allowed by the owner, their agent or the law.
  6. Accuracy statement. A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or allowed to act for them.

How to Send a Notice

Email your notice to me at brynncalloway.n@gmail.com with the subject line “DMCA Notice”. You can also send it through the contact form with the same subject line.

Please send 1 notice for each page, and keep the message plain and complete. A notice that is missing any of the 6 items above may not be valid, and I may need to ask you for the missing details before I can act.

What Happens Next

When I receive a complete notice, this is what happens:

  1. I review it. I check the page you mention and the details you sent.
  2. I act on it. If the notice is valid, I remove the material or block access to it.
  3. I tell the poster. If someone else added the material, such as in a comment, I let them know.
  4. I reply to you. I confirm what I did, or explain why I could not act.

If Your Content Was Removed by Mistake

If something you posted on Nailoholic was removed after a notice, and you believe it was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice. It must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • A description of the material that was removed and where it appeared.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address and phone number.
  • A statement that you agree to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address, or for any district where Nailoholic may be found if you live outside the United States, and that you will accept service from the person who sent the original notice.

Once I receive a valid counter-notice, I send a copy to the person who filed the original notice. Unless they tell me they have filed a court action, the material may be restored within 10 to 14 business days.

Repeat Problems

If a person repeatedly posts material on Nailoholic that breaks someone else’s copyright, I will remove their ability to comment or submit anything to the site. Thank you for helping keep Nailoholic fair for every creator, including you.
